Lavington Clinic Family Practitioners

Education & Employment

For many years the doctors at this clinic have been involved with the education of medical students from the University of NSW who are studying in the region and young General Practitioners (GPs) from Murray City Country Coast GP Training who are completing their general practice training (GP registrars). A number of our doctors are involved in this education and we hope this will increase the number of doctors who eventually decide to stay and work in our region.

Our nurses have also been involved in the training of student nurses for some years with student nurses from La Trobe and Charles Sturt University being placed within our practice.

Due to this extensive involvement in training, there may be occasions when you are asked if you have an objection to a third person being present in the room during a consultation. There is no obligation to agree. Third parties present during the consultation are bound by the same strict level of confidentiality that all staff working in the clinic must follow.

There is a vacancy for a full time or part time GP to join our team.

  • The availability of an existing patient base
  • There will be the availability to assist with teaching
  • Supported by 2 FTE nurses

VR GP preferred but Lavington is currently classified as DWS and therefore non-VR GPs with recent experience in General Practice are also encouraged to apply.
